Located in the heart of the island is the central village of Barrigada; boasting a legacy of diverse culture, history and beauty.

There is an old Chamorro legend of the God Puntan who was getting ready to die and he instructed his sister Funa how to dispose of his body. Puntan said that his eyes were to become the sun and the moon, his eyebrows to be rainbows, his breast the sky and his back the earth. Barrigada means “FLANK” in Chamorro. Looking down from Mt. Santa Rosa the island resembles a man lying on his back with his FLANK being the most noticeable, thus is where the village of Barrigada lies.

Located in the center of the island on Guam’s limestone plateau, Barrigada stretches from the cliff line overlooking Harmon into the east and Mt. Barrigada to the north. Located in these beautiful hills of Mt. Barrigada lies one of Guam’s most desired neighborhoods, Barrigada Heights which overlooks Tiyan and the Philippine sea.

The Village of Barrigada holds the location of many upcoming business centers alongside Guams Main US Postal Facility, Antonio B Won Pat International Airport, and the Guam National Guard
